THE YEAR is a recently formed band made up of a hardened music outfit who have not only worked together but toured many countries in previous years. They may have only officially got together in the Summer of 2012 but all the systems and processes were in place a long time before then!‘We knew we were looking for a simple, short but strong name, a name that reflected the sound we were looking to produce. This year has definitely been the year of change, not only did we shift from out previous style as a band but we felt it paramount to create the beats, breakdowns and overall tunes that kept our fans wanting more (with head-banging as standard). A simple perspective in the way we made music was the key!"

 

The self titled debut album is receiving positive reviews from across Europe, it captures fast rhythmic sections as well as epic shredding riffs with catchy choruses. It features 11 tracks which are a perfect balance between chaos and harmony – designed to grab at the listener and hit them every 10 seconds with something new!

 

These last two years have been amazing so far, with TY being support act for bands such as Architects, More Than a Thousand, Comeback Kid, Devil In Me, Deez Nuts, Your Demise, Martyr Defiled and many others.
